I might be biased, but 2012 is looking like a promising year for hip-hop. Each week’s Hip-Hop Update has brought you some dope mixtapes to check out, and it wouldn’t be right if we didn’t keep it going this week. Down below you’ve got mixtapes from both a Cali rookie and a Cali veteran, as well as the regular 8Tracks Playlist. Download. Playlist. Enjoy.

Just a couple of days after dropping his latest project, ‘California Republic’, on fans, The Game teamed up with DJ Skee and released the NO DJ version of ‘California Republic’. This tape is exactly what you’d expect from The Game at this stage in his career - a feature-heavy mixtape filled with all kinds of vibes, yet the same old Game, killin’ it. I’ve always hated on Game for being a name dropper, but his talents can’t be denied. 24 tracks on this one, with features from Pharrell, Snoop Dogg, Drake, Rick Ross, Ace Hood, French Montana, DJ Khaled, Nipsey Hu$$le, Trey Songz and many more names. This one’s one of those you should pick up cause you’ll definitely enjoy some of the tracks on it, maybe even all.

Young Veggies, the California up-and-comer, dropped the third installment is his ‘Customized Greatly’ mixtape series and the word is: “This shit bumps!” This one isn’t as feature laden as ‘California Republic’ but Casey Veggies is still on the rise and all he’s got to worry about right now is his talent. Regardless, Casey did recruit Earl Sweatshirt, Tyler The Creator, Hodgy Beats & Domo Genesis of Odd Future for PNCINTLOFWGKTA.
Last but not least, bump these 30-minutes of hip-hop goodness. Stay up fam!
